About
Words from Mr. Jack
Educational pioneer Andrew Marcinek, states that “in all of my work in education, there has never been a more motivating or driving force than student voice. Additionally, we live in a generation where anyone in the world can take his or her voice and amplify it globally.'” At the same time with the advent of Al, the student voice around the world faces an existential crisis – does the written word matter anymore? Journalism, media studies and the NIS Stallion Spirit magazine yearns to create a space that develops expression, journalism, and documentation that stands up for the importance of the written word as well as artistic expression of all sorts. Our magazine endeavors to be all-inclusive and to highlight work of NIS students and their VOICE. Please take a moment to think about how you could contribute content and get your voice heard and your name published. For those of you who are not in grade 12, please consider joining the class next year behind the scenes as designers, editors, marketers and leaders of our nascent publication. As the student advisor to the Stallion Spirit Magazine and the teacher of Journalism/Media Studies at NIS, please feel free to contact me with any questions you have about getting involved!
