Students spray and splash as NIS hosts its annual school Songkran event on March 27th before the school break. The event, being held to celebrate Songkran, included many traditional ceremonies such as Rod Nam Dam Hua (รดน้ำดำหัว), as well as a speech by the school principal on Songkran and an exhilarating somtum performance contest. Additionally, aside from the performances that were held in the auditorium, school faculty had set up a Songkran splash zone for students to enjoy the water play, with snack and equipment booths, inflatable pools, sprinklers, and multiple water trucks set up just for the event. With all these events set up, the NIS community celebrated Songkran all together, combining both tradition and fun to fully capture the Songkran spirit on campus.
