Every winter, NIS turns its ES Center field into a lively Winter Carnival—an evening filled with music, food, booths, and performances under the lights. This is the time for the whole school to gather together and celebrate the holiday!
Nakornpayap International School’s annual Winter Carnival is scheduled for December 18th , running from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the ES Center Field. This year’s theme, according to event coordinator Eiam Wongkanhchai, is “The New NIS.”
As preparation begins, many students say they can already picture it: the field slowly turning into this glowing mini-festival, the lights kicking in at sunset, and booths that you have to squeeze sideways to pass. For those who’ve ever been, if you have time, please don’t miss: a few hours of nonstop performances (dancing, singing, band…) while rows of booths serve food all over the world—dishes cooked by parents, toys and crafts from different cultures, and handmade desserts students sell themselves. It is a whole-school event where not only NIS students join, but families are also welcome.
“I really liked the atmosphere of the Winter Carnival last year, but I’m a little worried about what will happen if it rains.” Kaka, Grade 11, remarked.
Mia added, “I really loved the stage setup last year—especially the lights at night. I just hope this year the backstage calls can be earlier, that would be better for us to prepare.”
Vicky, who helped at a booth last year, nodded in agreement: “the lighting was honestly amazing, and I really like the food. But it was super hot at noon, and the booth area got crowded so fast. If we could get some shade or tents this year, that would make a huge difference.”
Students are really looking forward to this year’s Winter Carnival, and genuinely hope this event will get better and better. The fun of the Winter Carnival is that everyone contributes something different, making the event uniquely NIS.
The school is now collecting performance registrations. Once all submissions are in next week, the final performance schedule will be announced. Any specific requirements or expectations for performance will be shared together with the confirmed schedule.
If you want to show off your talent on stage, now’s your chance! Sign up for performances today and join the fun—we can’t wait to see every shine!
Booth registration will open this Friday. If your club, group, or you personally want to set up a booth, here is your opportunity! Sell your crafts, bring your signature food, share your ideas, or just have fun—we’re looking forward to seeing lots of you sign up!
Additional updates will be shared through the official School Info Email.
Lights, music, tasty food, and tons of fun—Winter Carnival 2025 is almost here!
