On Wednesday May 20th, 2026, the JV boys headed out to Unity in the morning to play in the Falcons Volleyball Invitationals. What a day it turned out to be!
Game 1: Panyaden
On their very first game, they went up against a tough matchup, Panyaden. Panyaden had multiple 6 ft+ players and a strong outside hitter. The Stallions started their warm-up early, but when it was time for spiking lines, things were looking rough; our players had a lot of trouble not spiking into the net. In reflection of this, Panyaden took the first set from us. The Stallions did not give up. “We’re going to win the second set and also the third set,” said Sean, the JV boys’ libero, keeping the players motivated. They went ahead and did just that, coming back against Panyaden 2-1.
Game 2: BCIS
Game two was a breeze for our JV boys, as the BCIS team comprised year 7 (grade 6) players. Respect to their coach for giving them an opportunity to go against older competition. They did a commendable job.
Game 3: SISB
The JV boys did not start off strong in this game. This time they are struggling to get their serves in. Coach Tee decides to sub in one of our U14 players, Young Bin, who has a strong serve, to re-stabilise the team. Our JV boys followed in his steps, not letting him show us up and finishing the game strong, 2-0.
Game 4: ACIS (Semis)
Our JV boys were playing calmly after their lunch break against ACIS. With their stomachs filled and energy replenished, we cleanly swept ACIS 2-0 as well.
Game 5: Unity (Finals)
The Unity boys just came off of an overtime win against SISB, so they were tired. The Stallions had their strongest start yet, with DJ getting multiple aces in a row, growing the lead to 10-1 early. But Unity was a strong opponent to beat, quickly regaining composure and tying up the game 22-22. The Stallions almost fumbled the early lead, but luckily we closed up the first set 25-23. Unity wasn’t going to let us have it easy and won the second set. The boys again struggled with their servers and also setting up an attack with a good first ball. The Stallions locked in like never before; every serve was in, every receive was good, and every spike found its mark. The Stallions won the third set 15-10 and took home a first place victory in the U16 Falcons Volleyball Invitationals
