TEDx Student Leadership Team hosted a full-day rehearsal practice on May 20th, 2026 featuring notable keynote speakers including students and teachers presenters, exquisite performances, and student volunteers training.
Held in the Harmony Theater, students, teachers, and volunteers spent hours refining their speech and performances in preparation for the highly anticipated TEDx event taking place this Saturday, also at the Harmony Theater. The theme in this year’s TEDx is called Bloom, The Unbounded Xpansion, aiming to celebrate the perpetual cycle that defines both nature and humanity. Every candidate gave their very best efforts in the rehearsal to fulfill their roles, subsequent to the three months of hard work and dedication.
Similarly, Alen from grade 11 aims to display his authenticity and passion towards music in a speech about his experience playing the piano and the guitar. Although he expresses his worry regarding the time constraints, Alen still dedicates his efforts to refining his speech for the official TEDx talk. “I hope to encourage people to maybe try the guitar or get into music”, he says.
Along with the speeches, the rehearsal also features musical performances. Mr. Nut, the Middle School music teacher and a professional clarinet player with over 20+ years of experience is performing in a duet along with Benny from Grade 12 who is playing the guitar. Mr. Nut explains that it is his first time playing a duet with a guitarist, and carefully selected a song that fits both the instruments well.
Overall, this rehearsal effectively prepared students, teachers, and volunteers for the big event that is to come. Everyone involved has displayed their hard work, passion, and dedication for this once in a lifetime experience. Please look forward to the upcoming TEDx event on Saturday May the 23rd. Tickets are still available!
