On March 14, 2026, NIS hosted as an official test center for the March 2026 SAT round. On this day, students from not only NIS but also outside participants all gathered at the school to take the SAT exams used for university admissions around the world.
The SAT test is a global test run by College Board and is used by many universities around the world as part of the college admissions process. When students came to NIS to do the test, they went through the check-in process and worked on the exam for several hours. For this testing round, NIS welcomed first-time test takers as well as students returning to improve their score.
The testing began in the morning with students checking in and being assigned to their exam rooms, where they set up their devices ready for testing, as proctors reviewed testing rules before the exam officially started. These exams are adaptive for students, adjusting test difficulty to their performance, with two different modules each for the English and math sections.
After taking the test, students described their experience taking the SAT for the first time as being less intimidating than they expected, with Jason from grade 11 claiming that, “This was my first time taking the SAT. I thought it was going to be super hard, but it was more of a medium level. It wasn’t as difficult as I expected.”
On the other hand, some students noticed that there was a clear difference in difficulty between the two modules of the test, showing an example of the SAT’s adaptive format, with another student saying that, “For the language section, the second part felt harder for me. But for math, the second section actually felt easier.”
Additionally, another student added that in this specific round of the SAT, the language section of the test seemed to be more difficult than the math compared to other rounds, with a student stating that, “The English part was slightly harder than the math part, so I think that was the more difficult section.”
To further exemplify the difference in this specific round, a student who took the previous round of the SAT claims that, “Compared to last year, the reading part felt easier to understand and the vocabulary was easier. But the math was harder than before and took more time to finish.”
Afterward, when students had finished taking their test, many talked to each other about their experiences and how their exams went, as well as discussing how each section was for them. While there were varied opinions on this round of the SAT, most students agreed that these test scores were important and played a key role in their future for university.
To conclude, for many test-takers of this SAT round hosted at NIS, it provided them with a testing opportunity as well as a chance to gain experience with the format of an exam which is essential to their future academic plans.
