As season 2 sports ended, the basketball season left a mix of emotions: disappointment in the results, pride in the effort shown during the game, and meaningful lessons gained. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams faced challenges on and off the court. From dealing with pressure-filled games and difficult situations to moments that pushed them to challenges that are beyond basketball, stallion basketball players showed poise and team spirit throughout.
Girls’ basketball: Growth through the challenges
The girls’ basketball team had a particularly challenging season, especially toward the end of the season. As we’re adjusting to a new coaching style, issues related to communication, training structure, and decision making during games began to surface. These challenges reached a pitch late in the season, when miscommunication and emotional tension during the games created controversy and disruption.
Even though they faced these challenges, the players grew stronger and more united. Many players learned how to support each other, handle stressful situations, and stay focused despite problems that they’re facing. With one game remaining against UCIS, the girls’ team still has an opportunity to attend the CMAC semifinals. The outcome of this season for girls basketball is a defining experience in terms of growth and teamwork.
Boys’ Basketball: A Tough End to the Season
The boys’ basketball team played one of the most intense games of the season in their CMAC semifinal qualifying match. It was a tight game from start to finish, with both teams refusing to lose. Senior player Genaro helped NIS to one point ahead by hitting multiple 3 point shots. Then the boys started to get tired. The NIS team lost the game by seven points. Coach Carlos said that the game was very close. The boys basketball team and the coach were talking about the game. They all agreed that it was a very tough game for the boys basketball team. The team kept on supporting each other when they lost. They helped each other out. Said nice things to one another. This showed that the team had teamwork and they were good sports, about it. The team kept this up until the end.
Season 2 basketball was a season full of unforgettable moments. As a sports reporter who watched every game, I would like to share a few words of appreciation. Thank you to all the players for your hard work. To all the seniors, thank you for your dedication until your final season. We wish you the best in your future journeys. Susu!
