It has been 633 days since the school snack shop at the Voyager building opened on August 12, 2024, together with the new high school building. In that time, it has quietly become part of everyday student life. Between classes, during breaks, and after school, students often stop by for a quick drink or snack.
Morning break is usually one of the busiest times. With only a short amount of time between classes, many students line up to grab something quickly before heading back to class.
One change students noticed is the new card payment system. Previously, students paid with cash or by scanning a code, but now purchases can be made directly using a student card. Several students said this has made buying snacks faster, especially when the line is long.
According to the cashier, Ms.Joy, the shop experiences its busiest period during the morning break, although the rush does not last very long.
While the snack shop is clearly popular, students also have mixed opinions about certain aspects of it. Based on responses collected from students across different grades, most students said they are generally satisfied with the snack shop and feel it makes school life more convenient. However, several common concerns were mentioned.
Some students feel that certain items sell out too quickly, especially popular snacks like chips and jelly. They hope the shop can restock more frequently. Others mentioned that prices are slightly high; they point out that certain snacks cost more than the same items sold at nearby convenience stores or supermarkets, such as 7-Eleven. Students also expressed that they would like to see more options in the snack shop, for example more variety of salty things, sandwiches, and more pudding.

A few students also said they are not fully satisfied with the opening hours, they hope the snack shop could open more consistently during class breaks to make it easier to buy food without rushing.
Overall, after more than 600 days, the snack shop has become an important part of daily student life. While there are still small improvements students hope to see, it continues to provide a convenient place for students to grab snacks, take a short break, and recharge during the school day.
