After a long wait for an eventful trip, seniors finally got a chance to go on an overnight field trip to Lamphun on the 29th-30th of May, 2026. During the trip, not only did seniors have so many moments with laughter and joy, but there were also moments on what we’d usually label as rather melancholic; mainly because this will probably be one of the last times the entire class gets to be gathered together before graduation. The activities and the trip were mostly organized by Ms Eiam and Ms Immz, and aside from the students, 4 teachers and 2 staff members followed along: Ms Eiam, Ms Immz, Mr Richard, Mr First, Mr Punya, and Mr Benz. On the morning of the 29th, all students were gathered at the multipurpose room of D building prior to the departure via 4 medium-sized vans. Looking excited and joyous, students were ready with their outfits and bags, which were then carefully transferred into the vans. The vans departed at 8:30 in the morning and arrived at the Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum at around 10 am. Along the way, the vans stopped for approximately 30 minutes at a seven-eleven for students to purchase some snacks and items of their choice if they wished to. At Dhanabadee ceramic museums, there were 3 areas that staff and students explored: the painting session, the ceramic shop, and the ceramic museum. Upon arrival, before the activities began, NIS seniors and staff were given 30% discount coupons to be used at the ceramic shop! Shortly afterwards, seniors and staff were gathered and sat down at the painting room and were given plain ceramic saucers which will then be painted. After painting, the painted saucers were then placed into the oven, and during the wait, the seniors and the staff headed to the museum to explore and learn the history and the process behind the production of ceramic pieces, learning the surviving essence of craftsmanship.
Afterwards, seniors and staff returned to the shop and painting building to collect their painted saucers and explored the ceramic shop where many purchased items and received a 30% discount via the gift coupon! At 12 noon, everyone departed the ceramic museum and headed to Wooden House Cafe for lunch. Just like its name, the Wooden House Cafe is a “wooden house” rustic, traditional structure with classic Northern Thai aesthetic appeal, situated in Lamphun, and is located alongside Sun Mueang Nuea Road. It sits directly beside the scenic San Mueang Moat (the historic city moat). Students and staff were served with a set menu Ms Eiam organized, which comes with fries, nuggets, individual servings of white rice and veggies, and stir-fried meat, which was a rewarding lunch after a long ride from Chiang Mai. After lunch, the bridge and the city moat were explored a bit. Finally, seniors and staff checked in at Na Ban Mae Resort and took a 1-hour rest break before gathering at the gathering hall for senior activities. People were organized into pairs in terms of rooms, and a comfortable set of accommodations was given. At 4 pm, after the rest, everyone was gathered in the hall, and everyone had fun doing a set of group activities which included: dance battles, makeover challenge, waterbottle race, and senior confessions. During the last round of senior confessions, everyone took turns to confess a message to their classmates for the past, present, and future, and the emotional intensity heightened.
“In the future, when we reunite, I hope every silly beef we had in the past gets resolved, and we all start over again, clean, forgiving each other and such, no more beef, guys!” -Lola Schuenlaub
“I hope everyone’s successful in the future, being able to do whatever they want!” -Todd Murray
“I wish I had more time to know each one of you more.” -Angela Guo
After a heartfelt moment, everyone headed to Vienna Shabu for dinner, where we were offered a buffet of shabu. Finally, after a long day, we headed back to the hotel, spent some time at the pool, and went to bed at 11 pm. The next day, the hotel offered a breakfast buffet with some fried rice, eggs, bread, and such, and we departed the hotel at 9 am to head to Kad Nang Kom market for a second breakfast! Fresh fruits, vegetables, and local food were sold by freelance vendors, and most of us could only grab some light drinks since we already had our breakfast. Finally we headed back to school and arrived at school at 11:30 am.
